PIR.SA.FA. FOLDING HANGER PATENT STUDIED BY TOLENTINI UNIVERSITY IUAV OF VENICE

We are really proud to announce how University of Venice Tolentini IUAV, has deepen its studies through PIR.SA.FA.'s patented folding hanger.

More in details, we would like to thank Martina Sechi and Alberto Zanetti, bachelor students of product design and visual communication. The item on which historical research focuses is the folding hanger exposed at the exhibition 'No Name Design' at the Triennale in Milan in 2014, curated by Franco Clivio. This is one of the paths of historical research on the design of wire objects, conducted by students of the course in the history of design held by Professor Alberto Bassi with the collaboration of Michele De Chirico and Francesca Spolverini.

The in-depth analysis explains in a simple and intuitive way the history and the evolution of this particular hanger: it is supposed to have been conceived in America at the beginning of 1800, and a series of variants were created, all handmade!

How it was born, the need to travel that began to emerge as early as 1800, the upper middle class of the society of that time, the Victorian dresses with narrow necks...
all the way up to the PIR.SA.FA patent born in the 90s to ensure that pure cotton shirts of Frarica of Carpi required for the Maurizio Costanzo TV Show, should not be ironed!
